It's just so incredibly sad to think about how Kenneth Ellis's life was cut short at what should have been a fun night out with loved ones. I can't imagine what his girlfriend and uncle are going through, witnessing something so horrific. The fact that this might be tied to his brave decision to testify years ago, trying to do the right thing for his uncle Marvin, makes it even more tragic. It's terrifying to think about the lasting reach of violence and how it can reappear to shatter lives again so many years later. I hope the community can come together to support his family during this awful time, and maybe the increased attention can finally lead to some meaningful change in how we address these cycles of violence.
