Hey everyone,
I came across the tragic case of Deveall La Ray "Mac" McClendon, and something that's been on my mind is how the investigation unfolded. It's so disturbing that the case against the initial suspect, Clyde Mack Lee, got dismissed due to insufficient evidence. I’m really wondering about the role that technology played here. Authorities reportedly used Snapchat location data to charge the suspect in the first place.
Does anyone think this might have been both a blessing and a curse? On one hand, we're living in an age where digital footprints can potentially help solve crimes, but on the other hand, maybe the reliance on such data can be tricky without solid physical evidence to back it up. My heart goes out to Mac’s family and friends—hoping they see justice soon. Really curious about others’ thoughts on the use of tech in cases like this.
Thanks for reading.
