Has anyone else noticed how often drive-by shootings seem to be happening lately in St. Paul? The tragic case of Gabriella "Gabby" Dehoyos is just one example that's really shining a light on this issue. I can't imagine the fear and chaos in that SUV when the gunfire erupted. It’s truly difficult to wrap my head around how someone could just open fire knowing there are children involved. I'm thankful that Gabby's quick actions protected them, but it's so unjust that she paid with her life and that a family has to live with this senseless loss. Gabby seemed like such a vibrant person from the few stories her family has shared. I hope there might be some positive change in the community from all of this, maybe like increased patrols or community safety programs. For now, I just hope her kids grow up surrounded by love and the cherished memories of their mom. Sending strength and thoughts to everyone affected.
