Having roots in Coon Rapids and coming to the U.S. as a refugee, Youa's journey already speaks volumes about her resilience and strength. It's so sad that her story ended this way. The fact that community organizations like Violence Free Minnesota are continuing to bring attention to the issue of intimate partner violence is crucial. We should all be looking for ways to support and protect those around us who may be silently suffering in similar situations. Holding those children in my thoughts and hoping the GoFundMe helps them get through this terrible time.
