Did anyone else hear about Shannon's love for figure skating? It seems like such a unique and beautiful part of her life. In such a grim situation, I find myself trying to hold onto those bits of who they were beyond the tragedy. I can't imagine how her family, especially her kids, are feeling right now. To have such cherished memories with your mom, and then to lose both her and a brother in such a horrific way is just unimaginable. My heart goes out to her other children who will carry these memories with them. It's reassuring to know that the community is rallying around them. I hope they feel the love and support from all of us who are thinking of them, even if we can’t do much else.
I recently came across some details about the case, and I keep thinking about those little ones, Shannon’s two young sons. They were in the house during the whole ordeal, yet (thankfully) unharmed. But I wonder how they’re doing now? Such a terrifying experience for kids so young. The trauma of being there, even if they don't fully understand what happened, might leave lasting effects.
I hope there are resources and strong support systems in place to help them through the healing process. The community seems to be rallying around them, which is heartening. If anyone has more info on how they are faring, please share. It’s just unimaginable what those kids and the rest of the family are going through. Sending them all the love and strength to get through these tough times.
