I haven’t seen much discussion about the Amber Alert that got issued during the crime spree which cost Lyle Maske his life. Amber Alerts don’t always get the attention they deserve, but this time it seemed like the whole state was on edge. The fact that Aanerud kidnapped Nikkole and her kids right after the shooting just adds another level of shock and urgency to the whole situation. I'm relieved that law enforcement was able to respond so quickly and find them unharmed. It’s horrifying to think of the fear and chaos Nikkole and her children must have gone through. Sending love and prayers to all those who knew and cared for Lyle—a true hero whose final act was one of immense bravery.
