I’ve been following the case of Bryan Lara-Hernandez and Josephina Lerma-Dominguez, and it's just so difficult to wrap my mind around how quickly a disagreement can escalate into something so horrific. What really stuck with me is how they were just trying to help out someone in need. It’s absolutely terrifying to think that such kindness could be met with violence. My heart goes out to their families, as losing two young souls filled with potential must be unimaginably painful. I’m also left with some questions that I can’t quite shake off. Who was the person who handed the firearm to Ramirez, and what made them feel it was okay to hand over a gun in that situation? This aspect of the case has me wondering if more people will be brought to justice. It’s a stark reminder of how one split-second decision can ripple through so many lives. I hope that, in time, justice will bring some semblance of peace to Bryan and Josephina’s loved ones.
