I haven't been able to stop thinking about Dereon Reed and the profound loss her family and community are facing. It seems unimaginable to experience so many young lives lost in such a short span of time. I came across the information about the balloon release organized by her friends and classmates, and it just goes to show how much Dereon was loved and cherished by those around her. The fact that Dereon attended the same school as the two siblings who tragically drowned just months before adds another layer of grief for everyone involved. Lucille Nesom Memorial School must be going through such a tough period, and I can only hope that the counseling and support provided help those kids navigate through these terribly difficult times. These incidents really bring to light how crucial awareness and education about gun safety are, especially in households with children. Sharing responsibility as a community might help in preventing more tragedies. Sending heartfelt condolences to Dereon's family and everyone affected by her loss.
