Hey everyone, I'm really worried about the recent events in Baton Rouge, particularly the shooting of Edward Brooks. I read that this was the fifth homicide in the North Sherwood area in just over a month. It's terrifying to think about how much violence is happening in such a short time. I can't even imagine what Edward's family and friends are going through right now. Losing someone like this must be so painful.
Has there been any news about the 'proactive policing' efforts that the Baton Rouge PD is implementing? I hope they're making progress because no one should feel unsafe in their own neighborhood. It would be reassuring to know if they've been able to find any leads or suspects with these increased patrols. If anyone here is from the area or has updates, please share. We should keep talking about this until there's justice and peace for the community.
I can't stop thinking about the concerning rise in violence on Cate Avenue and neighboring areas. Edward Brooks’ shooting is another tragic addition to the recent spate of homicides. It’s terrifying to see the North Sherwood community gripped by so much fear and uncertainty. My thoughts are firmly with Edward's family and friends who are grieving this incredible loss.
What really worries me is that some of these cases are still unsolved. Is anyone else following what safety measures are being implemented beyond increased patrols? It seems like the community needs more support and engagement to tackle what's happening on the ground. If anyone here has ideas or insights on neighborhood initiatives that have worked in similar situations, please share.
I hope the ongoing investigations bring some justice and peace to everyone affected by this senseless violence. Stay safe, everyone, and let’s keep holding space for all the lives lost and the families affected by these horrors.
I've been following the recent wave of violence in Baton Rouge, and the tragic death of Edward Brooks really hits hard. It's terrifying to think that a neighborhood like the one around Florida Boulevard has become the backdrop for so much loss. I keep wondering about the impact on the community, especially the families and friends of not just Edward but also Cesar, Abby, Brittany, and Jarvion.
The fact that this is happening so frequently is alarming. I fear for those living nearby and hope they can find some sense of safety. I read that BRPD's focus on proactive policing includes more officer presence, but I wonder if that's enough.
What more can be done to break this cycle of retaliatory violence? The lack of answers is troubling. If anyone knows more about how the community is responding or any efforts to support the families, please share. Let's hope for arrests and peace soon.
