Hey everyone,
I can't stop thinking about what a close-knit community Alexandria is, and how this tragedy has affected so many people. Easter Sunday is usually a time for families to come together and celebrate, but this year's events have been overshadowed by such a devastating loss. I didn’t know Derrick Ford Jr. personally, but from what I've read and heard around town, he seemed like a genuinely good person whose life was cut way too short.
I wonder how the local community is responding in terms of supporting Derrick’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Are there any vigils or community gatherings happening in his honor? It might be comforting for his family to see the support and love from everyone. It feels really important that, as a community, we come together, not just to mourn, but to actively help the police bring whoever did this to justice.

It's so troubling to hear about Derrick Ford Jr.'s passing, especially on a day like Easter when families usually come together.
