Did anyone else hear about the memorial service for Antavian? It's supposed to be happening next week, and I've heard it's being organized not just by his family but with the help of some local community groups too. It seems like the community really wants to make sure everyone knows he was loved and that his life mattered. I never knew him personally, but from what friends have shared, he was such a bright soul with a lot to offer. It’s just tragic how such senseless violence has already taken so much from this area. These gatherings are so important—not just for mourning but also for bringing people together and maybe sparking some kind of change. Hope the turnout is huge and that it sends a strong message that the community isn’t going to stand for this violence any longer. Has anyone heard what else is being planned to try to end this kind of violence in Monroe?

I just can't wrap my head around what's happening in Monroe lately. Antavian's murder at the graduation party on Gayton Street has added to a disturbing trend of violence in our community. It's so troubling to think that someone so young had their life cut short in such a senseless way. My heart goes out to his family and friends who are undoubtedly suffering right now. What makes it even more frustrating is the lack of progress in the investigation. With no suspects or arrests made, it leaves us all wondering - who could do something like this? It feels like there's a growing fear in Monroe, and it's not just impacting those directly involved, but the entire community. We really need more resources and attention focused on stopping this wave of violence. Knowing Antavian's case is part of a bigger issue makes it all the more urgent to push for some real change. Anyone else feel like we're at a breaking point here?
