Has anyone else heard more about the context of the argument leading up to the shooting on Union Street? It's so difficult to understand how things can escalate to such an extreme, especially when lives are on the line. I feel for James Barfield's family – losing someone so suddenly and violently is an unimaginable burden to bear. I’m trying to wrap my head around how an argument can push someone to such a drastic action. Does anyone know if they had a history of conflict, or was this completely out of the blue? Sending thoughts to all those affected by this tragedy.

they grew up together and at one point they were close friends. The both had a child by the same woman. But neither of them were with the mother of their children at the time of the incident.

Mr. Barfield had recently moved from Louisiana and was only home to collect the remaining belongings of his and his fiancé. He was outside his mother’s house when the argument started. The case has went to trial and the defendant was found guilty unanimously by the jury.

It escalated because of the defendants Jealousy and hatred towards Mr Barfield who was just doing better in life than the defendant.
