Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to talk about how this tragic event has really highlighted the importance of community support. The candlelight vigil that was organized in honor of Corey Mouton and Jamir Carmouche was truly moving. It's touching to see neighbors, despite the heartbreaking circumstances, coming together to offer their love and support to the families affected by such a senseless act. To those who knew Corey and Jamir personally, my heart goes out to you. I can only imagine how difficult this time must be. No one should ever have to experience losing a loved one in such a violent manner. It's a reminder of how imperative it is for us to address the root causes of violence in our communities. Does anyone know more about any initiatives the community might be taking to promote peace and safety? I'd love to hear how others are joining together to honor their memories and push for positive change. Stay safe, everyone. ?

Has anyone else been following the investigation into the tragic shooting on East University Avenue? I cannot stop thinking about the impact this must have on the Carencro and Lafayette communities, especially the families of Corey "Coco" Mouton and Jamir Carmouche. The vigil must have been such an emotional gathering for everyone involved. I read that Dylon Doucet was arrested in connection with the shooting. This raises so many questions in my mind about what possibly led to such a heartbreaking event. What could have been the motive? Were the victims known to Doucet in any way? It's disturbing how these violent events seem to unfold out of nowhere and leave such a lasting scar on the community. For those who live in the area or have been following this closely, have there been any updates about the two victims who were critically injured? I hope they are recovering and receiving the support they need. I'm so thankful for the efforts of the police and initiatives like Crime Stoppers in keeping the community informed and engaged in seeking justice. I think it's crucial that we stand together and continue to share any helpful information. Sending my heartfelt thoughts to everyone affected by this tragedy.
