I can't get over how senseless these acts of violence are. I've been following the news about Louis House, and my heart just goes out to his family and friends. It's so frustrating to think about the life he had ahead of him—23 is way too young. What stands out to me is how his community has come together to support each other and honor his memory with those virtual candles. It’s small gestures like this that remind us of the power of community, even in the darkest times. I hope Louis's story prompts more meaningful conversations around tackling gun violence. It’s something that shouldn’t be happening in any community, let alone in the frequency that we are seeing in places like Louisville. Let's stand together and push for changes that could prevent such losses in the future.
