I've been following the tragic news about Jashawn Lamar Crook, and my heart goes out to his family during this incredibly difficult time. I grew up in Louisville and know the Russell neighborhood well. It's alarming to see another life cut short due to gun violence. Has anyone in the community seen any recent efforts to improve neighborhood safety? I remember a while back there were talks about increased community policing and neighborhood watch programs, but I’m unsure how far those discussions went. It would be a relief if something like that could be revitalized, not just for Jashawn's memory but for all families affected by violence. If you haven't already, please consider reaching out to LMPD if you have any info. Even the smallest detail can help.
