I’m deeply saddened by the loss of Duresa Kuri Tibeso. As we delve into the tragic events of November 7th, has anyone else noticed the community-oriented approach the Portland police are taking? With increased presence at Ethiopian businesses, it seems they are really trying to provide a sense of security and assurance to the community. I can't imagine the fear that must be rippling through the Ethiopian immigrant community right now, facing not only the loss of one of their own but also the haunting worry of potential targeted violence. If anyone knows local initiatives or community support efforts, it would be great to share how we can stand in support with them during this distressing time. Also, if there are any community vigils or gatherings planned, I'd appreciate the info. Let's keep Duresa’s friends and family in our thoughts as they navigate through this nightmare.
