I can't seem to stop thinking about the tragic loss of Thelma Tatten and Mark Cavallaro. It's just so devastating for their families and community. One thing that’s troubling me is how easily accessible firearms appeared to be in this situation. From what I've read, the gun used belonged to Jessica’s boyfriend and was stored in a safe at his home—I’m wondering if it was actually secure or if she had easy access to it. It raises so many questions about how firearms are stored in homes and who can easily get to them. My heart really goes out to their family members dealing with this unimaginable situation. I hope this case spurs more discussions around safe storage laws and measures to prevent something like this from happening again.
