It’s truly gut-wrenching to think about how one person’s battle with depression can lead to such devastating consequences. While grief has overshadowed so much, I’d like to share a bit about Sima’s incredible contributions to the foster care community. Many of us know her for her tireless work with the CASA program in Hampden County. She dedicated countless hours advocating for children in the foster care system, proving herself to be not just a voice but a beacon of hope for so many young lives. Her impact was felt far and wide, and it’s clear she lit up every room she entered. It’s unbelievably tragic to lose someone who had so much compassion and dedication to helping others. My heartfelt thoughts are with Sophie and the entire Setian family, who’ve been thrust into unimaginable sorrow. Let’s honor Sima’s memory by supporting the causes she held dear—ensuring her legacy of kindness and empathy continues to inspire us all.
