I recently came across the case of Rolando Rivera Arroyo, and it just hit me how senseless this act of violence was. Here’s a man, struggling and vulnerable, who probably found some sense of familiarity and perhaps even solace near Christ the King Church. The fact that Rolando was in a wheelchair just makes this all the more difficult to comprehend. One aspect I've been wondering about is Marston's mental state. I know there's no justification for such horrendous actions, but has there been any discussion or investigation into whether he was experiencing any kind of mental health issues at the time? We've seen cases where untreated mental health conditions can lead to tragic consequences, and it might be something worth looking into. I feel deeply for Rolando's family and friends, and those who are a part of the community where he was known. The randomness of this act must be so profoundly difficult for them to process. If anyone has more information about how the community is doing since this terrible incident, I’d genuinely be interested to hear about it. Keeping Rolando in my thoughts today.
