I came across this case while browsing through Allen County's crime statistics, and it just breaks me thinking about the children who lost their mother so suddenly. I know crime stats are just numbers until you realize every number represents a shattered family. Alisa Marie True didn’t deserve to be another statistic, and it’s small comfort to think that her brothers are stepping up to care for her children, but what a heroic thing to do.
I also found out about the GoFundMe and wanted to share it here in case anyone wants to help out. Imagine the weight on Kimberly Sampson's shoulders, losing a daughter and now caring for her granddaughters. This family is clearly trying to create some light in such a devastating situation. Let’s rally around them and show that community doesn’t just mean the people you know.
