Hey everyone,
I wanted to discuss the community's reaction to Mahlique Abrams' tragic death. Seeing the neighbors come together to support each other during this time has been truly moving. From organizing small vigils to offering support to Mahlique's family, it's clear how loved he was. It raises the question of how such senseless violence can strike even the tightest communities. I can't imagine the pain his family is going through, and my thoughts are with them. Has anyone else experienced similar community responses in other cases? It’s a small comfort to see people come together, but it's also a stark reminder of the change that needs to happen. Thoughts?

I was thinking about the role of community safety in cases like Mahlique Abrams'. It's so unsettling that things like this can happen in a place where people live, work, and play. I can't help but wonder if more could be done to prevent tragedies like this, especially on the city's north side. Having lived in Indy myself, I know how tight-knit some of these communities can be, and it must be devastating for his family and friends to be dealing with such a sudden and violent loss. Would love to hear thoughts on what measures could be introduced or improved upon to make these areas safer for everyone. Sending love to all those who knew and cared for Mahlique. ?
