Hello everyone,
I've been following the Jabril Ross case since it happened, and I've been thinking a lot about the community around the barbershop where the incident took place. It's so sad to see how places that should be safe havens can become scenes of such tragedy. Barbershops are traditionally community hubs, places where people come together not just for a haircut but for connection and conversation.
Knowing that this violence occurred so close to an elementary school is especially concerning. It brings to light the daily fears and anxieties that children in these areas might experience, which is just so unfair.
Let's not overlook the impact this has on the young minds who grow up in environments overshadowed by this kind of violence. It's heartening to see organizations stepping up, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done, especially in providing mental health support to those affected directly and indirectly.
Are there any locals here who can share how the community is holding up now, over a year later? What more can be done to support these neighborhoods?
Sending thoughts to Jabril's family and others who have been touched by this senseless violence. ?️
Take care,

Wow, this case has really been a long, exhausting journey for Jabril Ross's family and friends. I can't even imagine how difficult it's been for them to wait over a year for any developments. I'm really hoping that with Brandon Lee turning himself in, it might start bringing some closure to those who loved Jabril.
It's such a tragedy that his life was taken in a place that should have been safe and welcoming. A barbershop is usually a place of community and connection—having something like this happen there is just so upsetting. I really hope justice is served and that those community programs mentioned continue to thrive. They’re fighting the good fight against such senseless violence, and they need all the support they can get. Sending strength and love to those affected by this loss.
