I can't stop thinking about the fact that this happened at a church. It's just beyond devastating. Places like that should be sanctuaries, where people go to find peace and solace, not terror and violence. I didn’t know Devon personally, but I can only imagine how his family and the congregation must be feeling right now. It's so important that communities rally together during times like this. How do we reclaim these spaces and ensure they remain safe? My heart goes out to everyone touched by this tragedy. If anyone has information on how to support or engage in local advocacy against gun violence in East St. Louis, please share it here. We have to do something proactive so more young lives aren't lost in such tragic ways.
