I keep thinking about how it was still daylight when this tragedy happened. It's scary to think of the randomness and violence, especially in a place many of us frequent for everyday shopping. My heart goes out to Rick Perez’s family. I can't imagine the pain and confusion they must be feeling right now. I can't stop thinking about Rick Perez and how this tragedy has impacted his family. I keep coming back to that particular location at South Cicero Avenue and wondering about the circumstances of being there. Did Rick frequently shop at or visit that area, or was it a spur-of-the-moment trip? It's devastating to think he might have been going about his daily business or perhaps meeting someone when his life was unexpectedly taken. It's disturbing that this happened in such a public place, one that many of us consider safe for errands and shopping. My heart goes out to Rick's parents, Miguel and Maria, and his brother, Giovanni, who must be grappling with an unimaginable loss. I sincerely hope that more information comes to light soon and that justice is served swiftly for Rick's sake.
