On April 10, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Ross Dress for Less store located in the 7600 block of South Cicero Avenue, near the Ford City Shopping Center on the Chicago-Burbank border. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Rick Perez, was shot in the head around 5:30 p.m..
