Hey everyone, I've been following Quashay Johnson's case closely, and one thing that's been really haunting is the location where it happened – the 6000 block of South Carpenter Street. It's hard to shake the image of what must have taken place there that night. I don't live anywhere near Chicago, but hearing about these neighborhoods repeatedly affected by gun violence just feels so overwhelming. I can't imagine the fear and frustration that residents must experience daily. I’ve been reading about community efforts trying to fight against this violence and how some are tirelessly working to create safe spaces and resources for youth. It's crucial to support these initiatives however possible, even from afar. My heart goes out to Quashay's family and friends, who are left grappling with this loss. They deserve answers and justice for what happened. Does anyone know of any updates or how people might help support the neighborhood and honor Quashay's memory constructively? Stay safe, everyone.
