I just can't stop thinking about the ripple effect of this tragedy on Desean's community and family. The fact that he was just walking in his neighborhood, a place that should feel safe, makes this even more devastating. I read that he was really involved in his local church and was always there to lend a helping hand. I can't even imagine the void this senseless act leaves in the hearts of those who knew him. It's deeply troubling how gun violence robs us of people who make a positive impact. My heart goes out to everybody who's mourning him right now. I hope that something can be done to prevent more lives from being lost this way.
