Has anyone else seen the video of the balloon release ceremony for Kevin Laron Thunderbird? It was such a touching tribute, and you could tell how much he meant to everyone there. The whole community coming together like that really shows the kind of person Kevin was. I can't imagine the pain his children must be going through, losing their dad so suddenly like that. It’s tragic that someone who was obviously such a beloved figure had his life cut short. I hope the people who did this are found and brought to justice soon. Sending all my love to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. ??
I can't stop thinking about the incredible outpouring of support for Kevin Thunderbird's family. The balloon release ceremony was so touching; you could see the love and respect the community had for him. Hyde Park feels a little darker without him. This tragic loss emphasizes the dire need to tackle gun violence in Chicago. My heart goes out to his children; losing a father is unimaginably devastating, especially when he was such a pillar in their lives. Every time there's a delay in finding those responsible, it feels like another blow to the family and community. Why can't the authorities do more to bring some justice to his family? Keeping his memory alive helps, but it's not the same as closure. Kevin's light might be gone, but it's clear it continues to shine brightly through everyone who knew him.
