I've been following this tragic case closely and can't shake the image of what Samuel's family must be going through. The fact that he was gunned down just three blocks from his home truly haunts me. It makes me think about the absolute stolen sense of safety — something as basic as walking home should never have ended this way. As much as I wish it wasn't true, this situation is another grim reminder of the violence too many face in Chicago. I'm curious if anyone knows more about any community efforts or vigils that are being planned in his memory? It seems like North Lawndale could use a strong community presence right now to rally for peace and healing. If there’s anything we can do in addition to supporting the GoFundMe, I’d love to help.
