I just read about Dayman "Rocky" Warren Jr., and my heart goes out to all of his family and friends. It's so troubling to hear about violence taking away another young person with so much life left to live. I can't imagine the pain his mother, Shavala McDowell, must be going through right now. Losing a child is every parent's worst nightmare. And his kids, Kingston and Kyliee—they'll miss out on having their dad around as they grow up. It's just devastating. I keep thinking about the community and the support they'll need to get through this, especially for his children. I really hope they feel the love and support of those around them and that justice is served in this case. Seeing so many families go through this kind of tragedy is a reminder that something needs to change. No family should be left picking up the pieces after such a senseless act.
