I can’t stop thinking about the impact on Roderick Richardson’s family and friends. Losing someone to such a violent incident must be absolutely gut-wrenching. It’s devastating to know this was the 23rd homicide in Peoria this year, too. The numbers alone are alarming, but each case is deeply personal, affecting so many people’s lives in unimaginable ways. The fact that T’Nashia Wash is so young and had her whole life ahead of her makes this event even more tragic. Whatever the circumstances, nothing can bring Roderick back, and now two lives are effectively torn apart. I hope everyone involved can eventually find some semblance of peace, and I’m sending strength to all who knew and loved him.
