I'm still trying to wrap my head around the tragic loss of Serhonda Burnett. It really goes to show how domestic violence can sometimes spiral into unthinkable violence, and it breaks my heart for her family and friends who have to process this senseless act. I was reading about how Travares Mitchell, who was identified as the suspect, had a history of illegal firearm possession. It makes me wonder if there were signs before this that could've been flagged. Could anything have been done earlier to prevent this? It's so terrifying to think about how these situations can escalate without warning. My thoughts and prayers are with those grieving right now.
