Wow, I'm struggling to wrap my head around this news about Officer Celal Cenker Surgit. Losing someone in the force like this is truly difficult, especially under such circumstances. With a goal to have a counselor in each district and not even reaching that, it feels like they're not meeting the needs of their officers at such a critical time. It’s unsettling to imagine how many conversations could have made a difference had there been adequate resources and support available. For the family, friends, and colleagues who knew and loved him, my thoughts go out to you all. Hoping this tragedy might bring about some much-needed change in how mental health is treated within the police force. Maybe it’s time for a serious overhaul of the system so these preventable losses don't continue stacking up.
