I can't stop thinking about the tragic events on the CTA Blue Line that claimed the life of Adrian Collins and the other victims. It’s hard to wrap my head around the sheer randomness of it all. I read that Adrian was known locally for his kind nature and was quite active in his community, often volunteering at local shelters. It just seems so unfair that someone who devoted so much time to helping others would be taken in such a senseless act of violence. The fact that the shooter, Rhanni Davis, had a history of weapons offenses makes it all the more frustrating. Somehow, that history didn't prevent such a tragic event from occurring. It raises so many questions about what could have been done differently to avoid this situation entirely. My heart really goes out to Adrian's family and friends, as well as to the families of Simeon, Margaret, and Sean. I hope that they find some solace and justice as the legal proceedings continue. Does anyone know if there are any memorials planned for the victims? It feels important to honor their memory and perhaps bring some comfort to those left grieving.
