I'm just sitting here reflecting on the fear that must have engulfed the Liberty City community during that horrific night in 2014. It's so frustrating to see how the fear of retaliation or distrust in law enforcement can silence witnesses who might have crucial information. Every little detail counts in cases like this, and it's painful to think that people might hold back in fear of what's at stake for them. I truly feel for Nakeri Jackson's family and loved ones, having to cope with the loss amidst such uncertainty. The promise of increased police presence sounds good on paper, but if the community doesn’t feel safer or more trustful, it seems almost in vain. I hope somehow, someone finds the strength to speak up so justice can finally be served, not only for Nakeri but for everyone affected that night.
