I’ve been following the case of Daquantavious “Quan” Proctor, and something keeps gnawing at me. I can’t imagine the indescribable pain his family and community must be going through. What sticks out to me is the location where this tragedy took place—right in the parking lot of the McDonald’s where Quan worked. It’s so unsettling to think about how a place that’s part of someone’s daily routine, somewhere they might feel safe, can become the scene of such violence. It just adds another layer to this senseless act. I hope authorities can provide more clarity on what exactly led up to this moment. Sending all my thoughts to Quan’s loved ones. They deserve answers and justice, and Quan deserves to be remembered for the person he was beyond this tragic day.
