I’ve been following the tragic case of Ryane O. Swims Jr., and my heart really goes out to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. It's deeply upsetting to think that someone so young, with a life dedicated to service, was taken away in such a violent manner. I noticed that his parents, Ryane O’Neil Swims Sr. and Jill Hill, are advocating for changes to Georgia's gun laws. This seems like such a crucial point, especially considering the ongoing gun violence that plagues many communities. I'm wondering if there's any grassroots support building up in Savannah or even statewide from other families who've suffered similar losses? Community safety is everyone's business, and it's hard not to feel like something needs to change to prevent these needless tragedies. Does anyone have insights into any local initiatives or groups working towards reforming gun laws or increasing public safety in downtown areas? I think channeling grief into activism might be a way to honor Ryane’s memory.
