I've been following the tragic story of Daqwayvious Kleckley and his family, and it's just so difficult to comprehend how something like this can happen. I keep thinking about the officers who responded and the trauma they must have experienced arriving on such a scene. They were there to serve and protect and ended up confronting a horrible situation. The bravery it must take to run toward danger, not knowing if the suspect was still armed or nearby, is immense. And here's a shoutout to the officers providing medical aid before the fire department arrived. It's a small comfort knowing that Daqwayvious and his mother weren’t alone in those terrifying moments. I'm sending all my thoughts to Deyawnday; surviving such an event physically and emotionally must be incredibly challenging. It must be unimaginably difficult to lose a child and then have to face recovery while dealing with that loss. I hope she has a supportive network around her. Does anyone know if there are efforts to provide mental health support to first responders after such incidents? I feel it's essential after what they experienced on this call.
