Hey everyone, I’ve been following the discussion about the tragic death of little Kamaiyah Perdue, and something that really stands out to me is the responsibility of gun storage. It's just devastating that this has happened twice in the same community this year. I can't even begin to imagine the pain the Perdue family is going through right now. With Damarkis being charged, I wonder if this case might push for any changes in local laws about firearm safety? It’s a tough topic to talk about, but it feels like there’s a real need for more awareness and education on safe gun storage for families everywhere. Maybe there could be community programs, or even simple measures like distributing gun locks to prevent another tragedy like this? My heart goes out to Kamaiyah's family and everyone involved. Stay safe, everyone. If you have any thoughts on how we can make homes safer, I'd love to hear them. Take care, [Username]

I’ve been following the discussion about the tragic death of little Kamaiyah Perdue, and I can’t stop thinking about the implications this has for responsible gun ownership. I’m curious if anyone knows what kind of discussions are happening in the community about gun safety education. While the focus is understandably on the legal ramifications for Damarkis Perdue, are there any initiatives being taken locally to prevent future tragedies? Maybe community workshops or talks at schools about the importance of securing firearms? It's gut-wrenching to think that this is the second such incident this year alone in the East Point area. My heart goes out to Kamaiyah’s family; I can’t imagine the pain they’re going through right now. Let's hope that some good can come from this awful situation, whether it’s more awareness about gun safety or stricter regulations to prevent access to firearms by children. ?
