Hey everyone, I just came across a fascinating tidbit about John Anglin's escape from Alcatraz that I hadn't considered before. Have any of you thought about how crafty these guys were to make that makeshift raft from raincoats? I mean, these were just everyday objects that they turned into a potential life-saving vessel. The amount of planning and ingenuity it must have taken to stitch those raincoats together and trust them enough to venture into the icy waters of the San Francisco Bay is mind-boggling. It's almost like they were daring everyone to underestimate them. Do you think this kind of resourcefulness hints at them possibly having had a planned network on the outside, or were they just relying on sheer determination and luck to make it through? Would love to hear your thoughts or any info you might have come across!
