Has anyone else considered the weather conditions that day when Kenneth Nelson Stone went missing? From what I gathered, there was a fog advisory that morning, which would've made visibility quite poor out on the Penobscot Bay. Is it possible he got disoriented, or maybe even slipped while trying to manage the gear in less-than-ideal conditions? The fact that his jacket and coffee bottle were found in the water feels like a sign of some quick, unexpected accident. It just seems odd that with so many experienced rescuers and locals involved in the search, they didn't find any trace of him. Could the weather have played a bigger role than we think? It seems important to consider every subtle detail in cases like this, especially when nature might have influenced the outcome.
I recently came across Kenneth Nelson Stone’s disappearance, and there’s a detail that caught my attention: the freshly baited lobster trap found near his boat. If the throttle was full-on and his boat ran aground, what was Kenneth doing just before that? It seems odd he’d take the time to bait a trap, considering how urgent the situation might have been once he realized something was wrong. Was he preparing for a long day at sea and didn’t foresee any issues with his boat? Or could he have been interrupted in the middle of baiting and had to leave in a hurry? Maybe the baited trap is a clue that he was in the middle of his usual routine when something unexpected happened. It’s just one of those puzzling details that, for me, doesn’t quite fit with the narrative of an accidental drowning. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
