I can't stop thinking about JaVuntae's aspirations and how he was so committed to making a bright future for himself. From what I've read, he had a clear plan - finishing school, heading to Alabama State University, and eventually serving in the Navy. For someone so young, it's admirable to have such determined goals. It's devastating to see that potential and that drive just wiped out so senselessly. I can't imagine how painful it must be for his family to know how hard he worked and the dreams he had that he won't get to pursue. I hope they find comfort in each other and in the memories they shared with him. It’s important we discuss and address these acts of violence because no one should have their future stolen like this. Sending so much love to everyone hurting in JaVuntae’s community.
