Hi everyone,
I've been following the tragic case of Kalisha Seddens-Dunn and Notorius Brown, and my heart really goes out to their children. It's truly difficult to grasp how these young lives have been changed forever. What a traumatic experience that must have been for them, and I hope they're getting the support and care they need right now.
Something that's been on my mind is the role social media played in this case. Brown's lengthy Facebook post before the incident seems to be a cry for help. It's saddening to realize that these platforms, while connecting us, also witness such distress without offering help. I wonder if there's more we can do as a community online to recognize signs of mental health struggles earlier or provide some real-time support or intervention.
It's crucial we start paying attention and perhaps advocate for some mechanisms within social media platforms to flag and support users who post content that indicates they're in crisis. Maybe this case can be a catalyst for change, where mental health awareness on social media platforms is improved. Just a thought, but definitely something that deserves more conversation.
Sending lots of love and strength to the family, and all those who are grieving this unimaginable loss. ?
I can't stop thinking about the three kids who had to witness this unimaginable tragedy. I can't even begin to fathom what they're going through, having lost both of their parents in such a horrific manner. It makes you realize how deeply affected the entire family must be and how important it is for them to receive the support and counseling they need. I've seen in other cases where extended family or community members step in, providing a stable environment for the children. It's going to take a village to help these kids process and heal from this trauma. I hope the community in Powder Springs rallies around them, offering love and assistance, and that they receive professional help to navigate the emotional aftermath of such an event. If anyone knows about local resources to support these kids, it would be great to list them here so people can help out.
