Hi everyone,
I've been following this devastating case, and I just can't stop thinking about DJ. I mean, he's only 12 and has already been through such an unimaginable ordeal. It must be beyond terrifying for him and Ja'Kody's family to face the aftermath of this tragic event. I was reading about how he played football with his brother. I can't even imagine how difficult it will be for him to return to those activities, knowing Ja'Kody won't be there.
It's encouraging to hear he's expected to recover physically, but the emotional scars will take time to heal. I really hope the community continues to wrap their arms around DJ and his family, offering them all the support they need in the coming months and years.
These kids deserved so much better. It’s crucial that we keep raising awareness and pressing for solutions to gun violence, especially for our young ones. Let's push for more conversations around this and find ways to prevent such tragedies in the future.
Take care, everyone. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight.

I’ve been reflecting on the impact that Ja'Kody’s passing has had on the community, especially his friends and teammates from the Atlanta JR Falcon team. Losing a teammate, especially at such a young age, must be incredibly tough for those young kids who shared so many memorable moments on and off the field with him. I can't imagine how heart-wrenching it is for them to process this, especially in a community event that should have been filled with joy and celebration.
It’s really moving to see the way the community has rallied around this family. The outpouring of support via the GoFundMe campaign is truly testament to how deeply Ja'Kody touched those around him. I hope this serves as a reminder to everyone just how precious life is and that behind these horrific headlines are families and friends whose lives are forever changed.
To those who knew him—remember his laughter and joy. It’s critical now more than ever to stand together as a community, not just to mourn, but to push for the change needed to ensure that no more families have to endure such pain. Let’s keep lifting each other up and advocating for a safer future for the next generation. If you have any information about the case, please share it with authorities, as the community deserves answers and justice.
I've been thinking a lot about how the whole community has really come together after the tragic loss of Ja'Kody and his friend Lamon. These kids were only at a birthday party, a place where kids should feel the safest. It's a powerful reminder that events like these ripple through so many lives, affecting everyone who knew them.
I recently read about the GoFundMe campaign that's been set up to help Ja'Kody's family with funeral expenses and DJ’s medical bills. I was really touched by how people have contributed. It’s a small comfort, but it's heartening to see so many people want to support the family in whatever way they can. Even if you’re not from the area, it just goes to show how connected we all are, and how many people recognize the need for healing and assistance.
Every time there's a call for information or a renewed appeal for peace, I hope it reaches someone who can make a difference, whether it's supplying information to the police or choosing not to pick up a gun. It’s clear that Atlanta is really reeling from this, and I hope the community's strength and support can pave the way for change and justice.
