Has anyone else been following the case of Jakari Rayshard Brooks? It's so tragic what happened to him. I'm really curious about the angle of the homeowner claiming self-defense. It’s one of those situations where there's so much more beneath the surface, and I can't shake the thought of how critical it is to distinguish between self-defense and unnecessary violence. The shooter supposedly felt threatened enough to open fire—can our community work towards strategies that help de-escalate situations like this one before they end in loss of life? I've heard about residents' fears of retaliatory violence too, and it’s gut-wrenching to think of more lives potentially being affected.
