Has anyone looked into the frequency of incidents in the northwest area of Atlanta? I've been reading about Marques Jenkins' case, and it makes me wonder how prevalent gun violence is in this particular neighborhood compared to other areas of the city. I’m not from Georgia, but it seems like these kinds of tragedies are becoming alarmingly regular in certain places. It's frustrating to think about how many lives, like Marques's, end so violently and without any resolution for the families. I can't imagine what his loved ones are going through, waiting for answers that may seem like they're never coming. Hopefully, someone in the community or the police department can shed more light on this and perhaps bring some much-needed justice and peace. If anyone has local insights or thoughts about what could be done to curb this violence, please share.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Marques Jenkins, the young man who lost his life in NW Atlanta. What really gets me is how this case seems to have gone cold without any major leads, at least from what I can gather. It’s so frustrating to see another senseless death without justice and closure for the victims' families. I can’t even imagine what his loved ones are going through.
I was recently reading about the National Gun Violence Memorial and saw that Marques is remembered there. It got me thinking about how these memorials are bittersweet—great for keeping the memory of victims alive and drawing attention to the problem of gun violence, but also reminding us of how many unresolved cases like this one exist.
It seems like this city, along with many others around the country, is just caught in this cycle. Are there any locals here who might know more about community initiatives or support groups for victims' families? It could be a way to support and push for more resources and attention on cases like Marques’. The more we share, maybe the louder our voices can become for change.
Thanks for reading, and sending all the strength I can muster to Marques' family and friends. They deserve answers.
Be safe, everyone.
I came across Marques Jenkins’ case on the National Gun Violence Memorial, and it deeply struck me. It’s devastating to think about what his family must be going through with so many unanswered questions about his tragic death. Living in Atlanta myself, I've seen how gun violence leaves communities rattled and families torn apart. It’s infuriating that this case is still unsolved. What truly worries me is how silent everything seems to be about it—no arrests, no suspects mentioned? It feels like this case is just hanging in the balance. I hope that someone, somewhere, knows something and is willing to come forward. Marques, like too many others, shouldn’t just be a name on a list. The community needs to rally around this and push for answers. We need to break the cycle of silence around these tragedies before it happens again to another family.
