Just came across this chilling case from 1985, and it’s been haunting me since I read about it. I can't stop thinking about the level of planning involved. The fact that the suspect was so meticulously dressed—with a mask, gloves, and trench coat—suggests they didn’t want to leave any trace of who they were. Whoever it was, they knew exactly what they were doing when they knocked on that door. It feels personal but also so premeditated, and it breaks my heart for Douglas’s family, especially his sister who had to witness such a traumatic event. What kind of person does this, and gets away with it for over 30 years? Surely someone has to know something. Memory can be tricky, but even the smallest detail might make a difference. If anyone from Anchorage remembers anything suspicious from that night or a person who suddenly started acting differently, please share it with the police. Douglas and his family deserve closure after all these years.
