Antonio Woodson was shot and killed on February 23, 2023, in Southeast Washington, D.C. Officers found the 41-year-old Black man with an apparent gunshot wound on the 800 block of Chesapeake Street SE at about 10:49 PM; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident as a homicide.

The shooting was one of three fatal shootings in Southeast D.C. within an eight-hour period, a cluster that contributed to a rise in homicides in the city compared with the prior year. No suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced; the investigation remains ongoing.
