Hey all, I've been following the tragic case of David Wright and Nathaniel Howard, and I can't help but feel for David's family, especially his kids and his grandchild. Losing a father and a family member in such a violent way must be incredibly difficult. Something that's been on my mind is the speed of James Jones' arrest and the fact that he was already on GPS monitoring due to his prior convictions. It makes me wonder about the effectiveness of the system in place for monitoring individuals who are on supervised release. How did someone with a record end up with access to a firearm again? It just seems like there are so many layers to the legal and rehabilitation systems that might need reevaluating to prevent future tragedies like this one. It's just awful to think about how different things might have been if certain safeguards had been stronger. My thoughts are with David and Nathaniel's families as they navigate through this time. I'm hoping justice is served and that this leads to changes that prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
