I've been thinking a lot about the community impact of Stephon Carroll's tragic death and the violence that followed at his funeral. It's deeply unsettling to see a life lost and then the ripple effect it seems to have on those left behind. It's like there's this cycle that keeps repeating, and innocent people keep getting caught in the crossfire. I can't imagine what Stephon's family and friends are going through. First, they lose someone they care about, and then they have to face more violence and loss at what should have been a moment of goodbye. How do you even begin to process all of that? It would be great to see the community come together to support each other and try to find solutions to stop this cycle. These aren’t just statistics; these are real people with families and futures that are being stolen. I hope the MPD can make some progress soon, and anyone who knows anything decides to speak up. Maybe then we can prevent something like this from happening again.
